AN OVERVIEW

InCollaboration, Incoporated, and its production arm, the Readers Theatre Workshop, works in close partnership with schools, community school districts, government agencies and other arts organizations. 

The Company offers programs to enhance student performance, engage parental involvement, and provide professional development and teacher training, using the arts and technology as an integral part of classroom instruction.

The General Program Categories Offered by the Company include the Theatre Arts, Dance, Music, and the Visual Arts; plus

Multi-Media Programs, including Music Composition, Movie-making and Editing;

Culturally Specific Arts and Crafts;

Individual and Ensemble Performing and Entertainment Arts such as mimicry, mime, puppetry, magic and illusion, acrobatics, drum and percussion corps, ethnic and folkloric dance; world music; gymnastics, animal wrangling, wrestling, and more.

Many of the specialty programs include a literacy component to improve the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills of students.

All of our arts learning and academically-based performing and fine and visual arts making programs incorporate the applicable New York State Learning Standards and, in New York City, conform to New York City's Blueprnt for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.


The Company continues to promote literacy
among the young in this digital age, and has incorporated the Internet, digital camera, scanner, digital video, creating recordable and rewritable CDs and DVDs, digital editing, digital music composition and scoring, and computer productivity technology into its school programs.


The Company, through its Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology is using current technology as a necessary and  important tool, needed to capture student attention, encourage student participation and improve student reading, writing, listening, speaking and critical thinking skills, right along with pens, pencils, paper, paint, crayons and books.
